D'aussi loin que je puisse me souvenir,
les fleurs ont toujours été de très chères amies pour moi,
me réconfortant, m'inspirant, me poussant à m'élever l'esprit et à aimer.
Pour une enfant seule, vivant dans un phare à dix milles du continent,
le moindre brin d'herbe qui sortait du sol,
la moindre petite graine étaient très précieux
et j'ai commencé un jardin quand j'avais cinq ans.
